Experience
Amos Hartsell, OTR/L has over seven years of experience in the specialized care of upper extremity rehabilitation, which includes shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands. He has worked alongside numerous orthopedic surgeons and also developed a hand program in southeast Washington for a prestigious orthopedic group. He has his Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota, with specialized hand therapy training at the Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in Northfield, MN. For the past two years, he has been specializing in hand therapy for Twin Cities Orthopedics, personally working alongside 10 orthopedic and hand specialty surgeons. Amos has vast expertise in traumatic hand injury rehab as well as common repetitive work-related and general injuries. He received specific shoulder rehabilitation training in Seattle, WA and complex hand, wrist and elbow training in Baltimore, MD.
Area of Focus
Amos specializes in custom fabrication of splints and orthoses for the upper extremity. His training in this area includes the completion of an advanced specialty course in Edina, MN. He also has extensive training in scar and wound management, as well as tendonitis and neurological deficits.
Personal Life
Amos is an avid sportsman and loves working with sports-related injuries. He is an Alexandria native who has returned with his family to provide much-needed specialty care to the area. He and his wife, Kendra, love having the opportunity to raise their four kids – Vivian, Vera, Rudy and Ruth — among the lakes of their hometown. They love to spend their time outdoors, enjoying the lakes and wildlife of Minnesota.
