State of the Art Equipment – What does this mean?

September 17, 2015 By Amos Hartsell

State of the Art EquipmentAlex Rehab offers the most effective and current therapy treatments in the area. We not only stay current on hands-on manual therapy treatment for soft tissue and pain management conditions, but we also have the latest state of the art equipment that works as an important adjunct to therapy sessions. We use a variety of Ultrasound; Electrical stimulation with new, current types to aid in pain management; and LASER treatments.

Ultrasound treatments use sound waves on the body for deep heating of ligaments or tendons, increase circulation for edema management, and also for scar break down for problematic issues. Our ultrasound treatments are not used for imaging such as a prenatal ultrasound. We utilize different wavelengths and frequencies of the sound waves to aid in the healing process.

Our electrical stimulation device allows us to use over a dozen new electrical currents that can decrease pain and sensitivity, reeducate muscles, strengthen certain muscle groups, and also help drive topical medications into soft tissues in the body.

LASER treatments are cutting edge and use concentrated light photons that are driven into the soft tissue  of the body to aid in chronic and acute pain. The term LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

For a list and description of many of the conditions and injuries we treat at Alex Rehab, visit the Hand Therapy Services page.
